Catholics on Call

National vocation discernment program

Young adults from throughout the United States and Canada came together for the 2016 Young Adult Conference at Catholic Theological Union (CTU).

Catholics on Call is a unique, innovative program for young adults that helps them discern their vocation, and consider a life of ministry in the church.  The mission of Catholics on Call is to delve deeply into the mystery of God’s call, by bringing people together who can share their experiences, pray, talk, and help one another understand how God is at work in their lives.

Young Adult Conference

Every summer, Catholics on Call hosts an annual week-long conference at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago.  This experience is designed for women and men (ages 18 to 30) who may be thinking about a life of service in the Church as a lay minister, religious sister or brother, or priest, and those who are undecided and want guidance in determining how God is calling them.

The Young Adult Conference provides a relaxed, comfortable environment for personal discernment.  Days of reflection held in the following year provide further integration of the summer experience and assistance with ongoing discernment.

Partner Conference

Catholics on Call offers an annual Partner Conference to address church ministers who work with young adults in the discernment of call.  Vocation directors, campus ministers, volunteer coordinators, and others are invited to come together to listen to experts speak about assisting young men and women in making important life choices.  You also have the opportunity to dialogue with one another on the challenges and opportunities of this important ministry.

This two-day conference is a unique opportunity for men and women in different church ministries to learn from one another about the ministry of discernment.
