Federal Student Financial Aid

Catholic Theological Union is happy to partner with you in achieving your educational goals. We are pleased to offer services to help you obtain federal student loans. CTU's financial aid and loan policy reflects its commitment to helping you follow your call to service. Although it may be necessary to borrow money to pursue your education, CTU urges students to do so with great care and only apply for loans that meet your needs. Salaries of ministry graduates are generally not substantial enough to support a large loan repayment program.

It is not our intent to limit your borrowing but it is our intent to encourage you to borrow “only what is immediately needed.” Incurring student loan debt is a serious matter and each student should consider possible repayment obligations in light of their career potential and ability to repay.

As a part of the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010, Catholic Theological Union is a participant in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan (Direct Loan) Program.
